Aylsham FC U13 v Dereham Town Blacks U13, Youngs Park

Aylsham FC U13 hosted Dereham Town Blacks U13 at Youngs Park in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U13 Premiership this morning (Sunday 20th January) with the hosts knowing a victory would make it back-to-back Premiership titles.

Aylsham kicked off proceedings and within 10 seconds found themselves behind after a block and powerful shot from a Dereham player found the back of the net. From the restart the following few minutes were very even with both sides struggling to maintain possession in blustery and cold conditions. In the 10th minute neat interplay between Freddy and Jack gave Alfie a chance to burst down the right, his cross just taken off Brad’s toes by the Dereham keeper who had come smartly off his line. After taking a while to get going Aylsham were putting some nice moves together and playing through the lines with Jack, Freddy, Josh and Adam working well to move the ball quickly to give Alfie a sight of goal but his shot flew narrowly wide.

In the 24th minute Brad worked hard and stayed strong to win possession on the edge of the Dereham area, laying it off to Jude, but his shot went just over the bar. The visitors were dangerous when breaking forward and the Aylsham defence had to stay well organised and resolute to limit the opportunities. In the 30th minute Josh took a knock, bringing Jaiden into the action in the centre of midfield. Moments later Denver sent a long ball forward that looked to set Alfie clear, but while he showed great determination to take the ball forward, a fantastic piece of defending cleared the danger just as Alfie was about to shoot. From Freddy’s corner, Denver got to it first but directed his header just wide.

In the 33rd minute Aylsham got themselves an equaliser as the first half drew to a close. Jack showed his man down the line where Adam intercepted, sending the ball forward. Alfie pressed high to force a misplaced pass and slid the loose ball home from just outside the area. The last action before the break was from a Dereham free-kick but Bailey can our to claim it comfortably, the teams going into half-time level at 1-1.

Dereham kicked off the second half with Aylsham making two changes: Jack making way for Ronnie and Denver being replaced by Tyler. The home side won a free-kick down their right which was swung in by Mitchy, initially headed away, but Brad chased the ball down to cross back into the danger area. The centre was only cleared as far as Adam who controlled it on his chest before sending a dipping volley goalwards that the visiting keeper saved confidently. Four minutes after the restart Dereham won a corner but a visiting defender headed just wide.

In the 40th minute, Aylsham took the lead with a well worked goal. Ronnie and Jude exchanged passes in the centre of midfield with the ball being moved to Freddy in a great position on the right. Freddy took a touch to steady himself before sending in a pinpoint cross onto the head of Alfie at the back post who powered it home. Four minutes later Ronnie burst through, beating his marker, but lifted his shot just too high. In the 48th minute Dereham had a good chance from a deep cross but the striker couldn’t quite convert on the volley with Bailey gathering comfortably. From Bailey’s long drop-kick Aylsham won a corner after a back pass bobbled just in front of the visiting keeper and went inches wide of the post. Freddy sent in a great centre where Jude had escaped his marker to head the ball powerfully into the net to give the home side a two goal cushion.

In the 54th minute Aylsham scored their fourth goal after Jude was first to a clearance to help it forward. Alfie held off his marker to play the ball in to space for Ronnie to chase and he played a low cross in from the right that was only cleared as far as Alfie who volleyed it into the corner of the net to complete his hat-trick. Josh came back on to give Brad a breather as Aylsham looked to see the game out. Within a minute Alfie had another chance after accelerating down the left but a fine diving save kept his shot out.

The home side were having the best of things at this stage but Dereham got themselves back into the game scoring their second goal in the 58th minute after Aylsham failed to clear a corner, the ball dropping to a visiting player on the edge of the area who moved it from his right foot to his left before drilling a shot into the bottom corner of the net. It wasn’t long before the hosts were on the offensive again, Jude trying his luck from distance that the keeper gathered well.

With three minutes left Jaiden, Jude and Alfie combined well to give Ronnie a chance to shoot, but his effort flew just wide. Aylsham kept the ball in the Dereham half as the game drew to a close, the whistle blowing to start the celebrations as Aylsham took the three points after a 4-2 victory that retained the Premiership title, a well deserved and fantastic achievement for the team with two fixtures remaining

Aylsham FC U13 v Stoke United U13, Youngs Park

Aylsham FC U13 welcomed Stoke United U13 to Youngs Park in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U13 Premiership this morning (Sunday 13th January).

In blustery conditions Aylsham kicked off and within a minute had a sight of goal after Bailey’s long kick set Josh away down the right. Josh beat two players on his way into the box and while the ball was cleared, Jack sent in a cross that fell to Freddy who saw his shot blocked with Adam firing the rebound narrowly wide. Three minutes later Jude played a lovely ball to Mitchy on the left but his shot flew just past the post. In the 8th minute a good ball from Freddy sent Brad through and he showed great strength to create himself a chance that the Stoke keeper tipped over the bar. In the 10th minute Brad went close again after Freddy received Jack’s throw, the ball fell to Jude who whipped in a first-time cross that Brad just couldn’t quite get his head onto.

Aylsham were having the majority of the play but still had to be on guard after a long ball forward threatened to breach the back-line but Tyler tracked his opponent superbly to halt the attack, conceding a corner which was headed over by a Stoke player. In the 18th minute Ronnie came on for Josh and a minute later Aylsham created another chance. Freddy accelerated down the right and played a lovely pass into Brad’s feet. While Brad was marshalled away from goal he turned back inside his marker to cross where Mitchy struck a first-time effort just over the bar. In the 25th minute Brad made way for Alfie in a straight swap. Three minutes later some quick thinking by Mitchy, taking a throw down the line, sent Alfie clear and, while he struck his shot well, saw it fly narrowly wide of the far post.

With five minutes left of the first half Josh came back on for Adam in midfield but two minutes later Adam came back onto the field to replace Tyler, slotting in at right back with Jack moving across to left back. After the reshuffle, Jack and Mitchy combined well down the left flank before setting Alfie away again but his powerful shot fizzed just wide. From the Stoke goal-kick Josh headed it forward and while a visiting defender headed it back out, the ball fell invitingly for Freddy who struck a shot from distance but the keeper made the save. The whistle blew to signal the end of a good half for Aylsham, just not being able to convert their dominance into goals, 0-0 at the break.

Stoke took the centre as the second half began and Aylsham pressed high to win the ball with Alfie’s cross being cleared by the goalkeeper, a stretching Freddy just unable to apply a finishing touch. Within a minute, Alfie turned his marker well, beating two more players, before putting in another dangerous cross that again just evaded Freddy. Most of the action was taking place in the Stoke half with Jude the latest player to try his luck but his shot from outside the box dropped just over the bar. Freddy was set away by Ronnie and his shot was well saved by the busy Stoke goalkeeper. In the 45th minute Brad returned to the action, replacing Ronnie.

Alfie and Jude combined well to play a perfect through-ball into Freddy’s path who accelerated into the box but his low left-footed drive hit the side netting. Aylsham went closer still in the 46th minute after a flowing move following a strong challenge by Josh who played a lovely ball over the top for Freddy to chase. While Freddy found his path to goal blocked he showed great strength to hold the ball up, waiting for Jude to arrive in support and laid it into his path but his curling effort struck the bar.

Aylsham finally got the breakthrough in the 49th minute. Ollie bravely stepped in to halt a Stoke move with Jude and Josh combining neatly to move the ball to Adam on the right. Adam’s long ball was nodded by Freddy to Mitchy who returned it into Freddy’s path. Freddy got himself in front of his defender and, while the keeper kept his shot out with his foot, the ball fell perfectly for Alfie who side-footed it home to give Aylsham a deserved lead. A few minutes later Alfie almost turned provider after latching onto Mitchy’s long throw and drilling in a low cross that was just behind Freddy.

In the 56th minute Aylsham thought they’d doubled their advantage after Alfie poked   the ball into the net after a cross from Freddy but the linesman has raised his flag for offside in the build-up. In the 59th minute Stoke were level after a corner wasn’t fully cleared and the ball was crossed back in where a visiting player had time to control, turn and rifle it into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-1. Aylsham looked to regain the lead and in the 63rd minute brought Ronnie back on for Denver. The home side won themselves a corner in the 67th minute that Freddy delivered. Jude was first to it but saw his powerful header cleared off the line and away as Stoke defended stoically. A minute later Aylsham went close again, this time Ronnie heading a deeper corner back towards goal but another block on the line kept the scores level.

As the game approached its finale Jack was first to a clearance, squaring it to Jude who moved it right to Adam. Adam’s resultant shot from distance was well held by the keeper as Aylsham continued to try to break down a well organised Stoke team in search of a winner. In the very last minute of the match the home side fashioned another chance with Alfie putting in a low cross to Jude’s feet and while he looked up and struck it towards the bottom corner of the net, the Stoke keeper pulled off a fantastic diving save. This proved to be the last action of the match with Aylsham left to rue missed chances but Stoke staying strong and compact with the goalkeeper particularly standing out, the teams taking a point apiece.

Aylsham FC U13 v Sprowston Hawks U13, Open Academy

Aylsham FC U13 travelled to face Sprowston Hawks U13 at Open Academy this afternoon (Sunday 25th November) in their latest Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U13 Premiership fixture.

Sprowston kicked off and looked to get the ball forward quickly. Jack chased a long throw by Adam down the right and forced a hurried clearance that Brad won in the air, the ball falling to Jude who linked well with Freddy before a through-ball sent Brad into the box but his first-time strike was well saved by the home keeper diving down to his left. Aylsham were playing some good football, moving the ball around quickly. From a Sprowston throw deep in their own half Jack won a header directing it to Josh who showed great feet to beat his marker before arrowing a pass into the path of Mitchy on the left who struck his shot well but it flew just past the far post.

Sprowston won a free kick down their left which was swung into the area where Denver headed clear. The ball went back into the Aylsham box where a home attacker got to it just before Bailey to direct it goalwards but Denver was on hand again to clear off the line. The hosts created another chance after a corner was only half cleared back to the taker who sent in a dangerous cross that Freddy had to read well to block a shot from inside the six yard box. Two minutes later Sprowston went close again following a ball over the top that sent the home striker away down the right but his shot flew just wide of the far post. Soon after Aylsham defended doggedly with Denver making a brave block and Jaiden getting a vital touch to prevent another Sprowston shot at goal.

After having to work hard to keep Sprowston at bay Aylsham took the lead in the 20th minute after Jack was first to a goal-kick to prevent it going any further up the pitch. Freddy was strongest and won the bouncing ball against his opponent and lifted it forward. A home defender headed it out of the Sprowston box where it sat up nicely for Jack to strike a dipping first-time volley that flew past the keeper from outside the area to make it 1-0 to Aylsham. The goal seemed to settle the visitors and they played with much more fluidity and confidence, passing the ball quickly and with purpose.

Aylsham put together a flowing move that almost resulted in their second goal a few minutes later. The move began with Ollie’s long throw that was headed back to Jaiden who calmly played it into Josh’s feet who ghosted past two players before passing it wide to Jack. Jack played a skilful back-heel flick returning the ball into Josh’s path and he sold his marker a superb dummy driving forward away from a sliding challenge. A through-ball was played through to Brad and although his marker got a touch Jack retrieved it and passed inside to Freddy who showed great awareness to play it perfectly into Mitchy on the left who took a wonderful first touch but, while his shot beat the keeper, it went inches wide of the far post.

Despite having the bulk of the possession for a good period Aylsham still had to be on their guard as Sprowston went in search of an equaliser. A sharp chance fell to a home player in the visitor’s box but Bailey saved well low down. In the 27th minute Alfie came on replacing Brad up front and it didn’t take him long to get into the game after a throw from Ollie was worked from right to left by Freddy, Josh and Jude and Alfie let fly but his effort flew just past the upright. The last few minutes of the first half were evenly matched with Sprowston winning a free-kick that was pumped into the box with Adam doing well to prevent an attacker from getting a shot away. The whistle blew to signal the end of an entertaining and well contested half with the visitors leading by 1-0.

Aylsham kicked off the second period with Ronnie coming on for Mitchy down the left. The visitors put some nice moves together but found themselves up against determined opposition who were well organised, pressing and closing down quickly. Sprowston worked themselves a great opportunity from the left flank where a low cross was met perfectly by an onrushing player but Bailey was equal to it, diving full length to his left to clutch the goal-bound effort out of the air to keep his clean sheet intact. This was a crucial save as within a minute Aylsham doubled their advantage after a flowing move as the game entered the 43rd minute. Adam’s throw down the right was moved across the pitch following a neat one-two between Josh and Alfie with Ronnie taking the ball down the left flank. Although his path was blocked initially, the ball fell to Denver who lifted it to Josh via a touch off a Sprowston player’s head. Josh, with a nice piece of skill, created space for Ronnie to move into and Josh split three players with his pass to find his teammate. Ronnie beat an opponent on his way into the box picking out Alfie to his right who squared it to Freddy in a great position. Freddy took a perfect touch to steady himself before burying the ball into the corner of the net low down to the keeper’s left for 2-0 Aylsham.

In the 46th minute Sprowston broke forward with pace and looked to get in behind the Aylsham defence but Ollie tracked his man well and timed his challenge perfectly inside the area. Freddy headed the corner clear but the ball was sent back in quickly, Denver blocking the first cross and Jaiden heading the second attempt away with Josh completing the clearance. Sprowston were desperately trying to pull a goal back and kept the pressure on, Jude putting in a strong challenge and a last ditch tackle by Adam preserving Aylsham’s two goal lead.

Brad came back on for Jack in the 51st minute and in the 57th minute Mitchy returned for Jude. At this stage both sides seemed to be cancelling each other out with much of the play taking place in the central third. From a Sprowston corner Denver powerfully headed the ball away and a misplaced pass gave Alfie a chance to hold the ball up. Alfie picked out Mitchy who cut inside before looking for Freddy up in support. The home goalkeeper was first to it but his clearance was nodded to Alfie by Ronnie and a lifted pass was right onto Mitchy’s left foot but his well judged volley flew narrowly wide. Aylsham were creating the better chances but found themselves up against a well organised, determined and motivated opponent. A Sprowston player threw himself in front of the ball to block a shot from Alfie after good work from Freddy and moments later Josh picked out Ronnie on the left who cut inside onto his right foot and shot from distance that forced a good save from the keeper.

From an Aylsham goal-kick the ball was worked deep into Sprowston territory where Brad showed his marker a clean pair of heels before cutting it back to Alfie and only another brave block prevented the ball crossing the line from his first-time shot. With 6 minutes left the visitors had the ball in the net after a clinical finish from Brad following a through-ball from Alfie but the linesman’s flag had been raised for offside.

With 2 minutes remaining Aylsham went very close to adding a third goal after Mitchy intercepted a clearance before finding Freddy in space who moved it left to Ronnie, beating two players but finding his path blocked. Ronnie showed great awareness to lay it back to Mitchy who struck it first time with his right foot from midway inside the Sprowston half and was so unlucky to see his effort hit the crossbar and drop over. This proved to be the last action with Aylsham having to work hard for their 2-0 victory to stay top of the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U13 Premiership.

Aylsham FC U13 v Sprowston Hawks U13, Youngs Park

Aylsham FC U13 welcomed Sprowston Hawks U13 to Youngs Park in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U13 Premiership this morning (Sunday 4th November).

Aylsham kicked off and worked the ball around the pitch nicely resulting in Alfie testing the goalkeeper from distance. In the 3rd minute the hosts had a sight of goal again after Freddy and Jude played head-tennis to set Jaiden away down the right and his dangerous first-time cross fell to Jude who curled his effort just over the bar with the outside of his right foot. After winning possession in the middle of the pitch a Sprowston player threaded the ball in behind the Aylsham defence for their striker to chase. Just as he looked to get his shot away Ollie caught up with him, shepherded his opponent wide and stepped in to clear the danger.

In the 5th minute the hosts took the lead with a well worked goal. Tyler and Ronnie combined well from a throw down the Aylsham left before Ronnie swung in a dangerous cross that Freddy controlled well. With his back to goal and a player on him he laid the ball to the edge of the area where Jude was on hand to rifle in a right-footed shot across the keeper and into the corner of the net. Sprowston looked to get back on level terms immediately and won a flurry of corners but these were well defended and soon Aylsham were back on the front foot.

In the 14th minute the home side doubled their advantage after a throw-in by Ollie was flicked on by Freddy who out-jumped two opponents. Jaiden took a clean first touch advancing into the box before squaring it to Alfie who’s shot was too hot for the keeper to handle as the ball rolled over the line in off the post. A minute later it was 3-0 after another well worked goal and glorious finish. Ollie’s long throw was initially headed clear but Jude regained possession before lifting the ball into the box. Jaiden was first to it and he found Ronnie in space who adjusted his position to judge the flight of the dropping ball before executing a perfect volley into the far corner of the net. Straight from kick-off Sprowston pulled a goal back with a fantastic cross-shot from the right side of the area to make it 3-1. Aylsham shuffled the pack with Josh going from a central position to wide right and Jaiden moving from the right into the middle.

In the 22nd minute as Freddy looked to break away he was tripped to win a free-kick midway inside the Sprowston half. Freddy dusted himself off and took the kick himself, hitting it sweetly and, while the keeper had a teammate on the line, it was just too high to keep out of the net to restore Aylsham’s three goal cushion. Seven minutes later it became 5-1 after an infringement by a Sprowston player gave the hosts a free-kick. Mitchy launched the ball forward and, after taking a deflection off a visiting defender, Josh’s forward run took him into the area and he brought the ball under control with a lovely first touch before flicking it past the keeper.

Just before the restart Ronnie took a breather bringing Brad into the action and in the 30th minute Jack came on for Freddy. Ollie’s long throws continued to cause the visitors trouble, the latest being flicked on by Alfie and only an acrobatic full length diving save kept the ball out from a powerful shot by Jaiden from outside the area. Jack’s corner was flicked goalwards by Brad but was headed off the line. Josh took the next corner and Alfie rose to meet it but saw his header cleared off the line as Sprowston defended doggedly.

As the half entered its last 5 minutes Adam had to be on his guard as a clearance was charged down but he bravely saved at the feet of a visiting forward. The Aylsham keeper was called into action two minutes later after a Sprowston free-kick was whipped in and volleyed goalwards but Adam dived low down to his left to keep the ball out and reacted quickly to smother the loose ball. Jack, Josh and Ollie combined well down the right before moving it to Jaiden who squared it to Jude in turn finding Alfie. Alfie played it across to the left where Brad worked his way into the box but fired narrowly wide as the half came to an end.

Sprowston kicked off the second half and the opening six minutes were played at a frantic pace with Aylsham looking to keep possession but Sprowston closing down quickly. Mitchy had to be alert and show his strength and speed to prevent the quick visiting striker from getting to a long ball first. Jack and Brad swapped flanks as Aylsham looked to use the wide players to build attacks and Freddy came back on to replace Josh in the centre of midfield. Two minutes later Ronnie came back into the fold replacing Alfie, Ronnie moving to the left with Jack moving to right back and Mitchy moving up front.

Sprowston had a few sights of goal, Tyler blocking a shot bravely and moments later Denver, in a four man wall, jumped to clear a direct free-kick from the edge of the area. In the 56th minute Aylsham put together a flowing move that almost resulted in a goal. From Adam’s goal kick Tyler helped it forward to Ronnie who flicked it inside to Mitchy with his head and his first-time pass set Freddy away. Freddy accelerated away from his marker and advanced into the box where he struck a fine shot that the keeper saved well but could only push it out into Ronnie’s path and he struck a powerful shot that brought another fine save. From the corner Ronnie went close again but hooked his shot just over the bar. Moments later Jaiden made way for Josh.

In the 61st minute a long throw-in by Jack was nodded back to Mitchy and he struck a volley that dropped just wide of the far post. A minute later Alfie came on in the centre of defence to replace Ollie. In the 64th minute Sprowston scored their second goal after a long ball over the top was seized upon by a visiting forward and he finished clinically from inside the area. On the very next attack Sprowston went close again after another long ball breached the Aylsham backline but Adam judged the shot perfectly to catch it with confidence above his head.

Jack and Mitchy combined well to set Freddy clear but a sliding challenge halted this passage of play, Brad retrieved the loose ball, putting in a deep cross that was half cleared to Josh who nodded in to Jude who in turn laid it back to Mitchy who saw his shot fly just wide. It was end to end stuff at this stage as Sprowston drove forward with their striker getting in behind the backline but Adam stood his ground to parry the first shot and a second Sprowston player picked up the rebound and forced another smart save from Adam before Jack cleared the danger. The final whistle blew to signal the end of a much more even second half with Aylsham victorious by 5 goals to 2 remaining in pole position at the top of the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U13 Premiership.

Aylsham FC U13 v Fakenham Town U13, Fakenham Academy

Aylsham FC U13 were on their travels again making the journey to take on Fakenham Town U13 at Fakenham Academy this morning (Sunday 28th October).

In bright and sunny conditions Fakenham kicked off and looked to move the ball quickly. Aylsham enjoyed some early possession and, after a cross from Tyler was sliced behind, won themselves a corner in the 4th minute. Freddy swung in a dangerous centre from the visitor’s left and Ronnie timed his forward run perfectly to create enough space to bury a firm header into the corner of the net to give Aylsham an early lead.

The visitors were having the bulk of possession and were passing the ball around nicely but they had to be on their guard after conceding a free-kick midway inside their own half. The set-piece was whipped in with pace and a Fakenham forward met it on the volley, squaring it to a teammate, but Bailey was quick to react to block the shot inside the six-yard box to prevent a certain goal, Ollie completing the clearance.

Aylsham went close again in the 11th minute after Jude was first to a goal kick, heading it forward where Freddy and Denver exchanged passes before Freddy forced an excellent save from the keeper low down. Two minutes later Jude picked up a loose ball and played a wonderful through-ball down the right channel for Freddy to chase. The front-man put in a dangerous delivery on the run that Ronnie met perfectly, but while he struck it cleanly, his volley went agonisingly wide.

Fakenham were looking to get the ball forward quickly in their quest for an equaliser and they won themselves a free-kick on the edge of the Aylsham area in the 20th minute. The visitors three man wall stood strong and blocked the effort that was half cleared but Ronnie put pressure on and forced a mistake to come away with the ball. Ronnie advanced over halfway before spotting Freddy’s run and playing a perfect through-ball into his path. Freddy had one thing on his mind as he burst clear and finished clinically with a low left-footed drive to double Aylsham’s lead.

Two minutes later the visitors made it 3-0 after Tyler intercepted a long ball to find Ronnie on the left side. A quick cross-field ball found Josh and he executed a perfect flick to lift it over a defender’s head and Freddy was in again, finishing with a powerful first-time shot giving the keeper no chance. From kick-off Fakenham fashioned themselves a chance to reduce the arrears after a good move following a throw-in but the final shot went just wide.

In the 27th minute Aylsham made a double substitution with Brad and Alfie replacing Denver and Ronnie. Fakenham enjoyed a good period of possession, a brave header from Mitchy cleared an effort from a corner and at the other end Freddy put in a great cross that was met by a defender just in front of Brad and the home keeper had to pull of a fine reaction save.

With two minutes to go in the first period Jack came on for Jaiden and immediately a slick move from an Aylsham throw gave Alfie a chance to shoot but his effort was deflected behind for a corner. Freddy delivered the centre into the box where Jude was able to escape his marker and plant a powerful header into the net to make it 4-0 to the visitors, the last action of an excellent first half performance by Aylsham.

The visitors kicked off the second half carrying on their good work and a lovely move between Freddy, Josh and Jack early on almost created another goal, the Fakenham keeper just getting to the ball before Brad could apply the final touch. The opening exchanges were very even with both teams staying well organised, most of the action taking place in the central third, but Aylsham had another chance in the 42nd minute after a strong sliding challenge by Mitchy halted a promising Fakenham attack. The ball fell to Jude who looked up and set Freddy away with a long ball over the top and the striker accelerated into the box but his low shot was well saved by the home keeper.

Fakenham had a great chance to reduce the arrears on 44 minutes after a quick break down the left. A low cross was flicked into the path of a home attacker and, while Tyler bravely blocked the first shot, the ball was headed back into the danger area and after a few ricochets fell nicely to another Fakenham attacker. The second effort was struck with power but Bailey dived his right to save well from point blank range to keep his clean sheet intact. In the build up to the chance Jude took a knock and had to come off for treatment, Denver taking his place in the midfield.

Aylsham won a free-kick just inside the Fakenham half after Jack beat his man with a nice piece of skill and was tripped as he looked to go through on goal. Mitchy sent in a dangerous cross that was only half cleared where Brad and Josh linked up well to give Alfie a shooting chance that the home keeper held confident low down with Freddy and Jack alert for any rebound. In the 57th minute Ronnie came back on for Adam with Jack moving to right back. Four minutes later another change by the visitors saw Jaiden returning for Denver with Freddy moving to the back and Jack moving up front.

Ollie was strong under pressure and held off his man well to find Ronnie and he played a lovely ball through for Jack to chase who accelerated clear and looked to chip the keeper on the run but his effort went just over. Two minutes later Jack lifted a perfectly weighted ball into Alfie’s path who let the ball run across his body before firing a left-footed drive that took the tiniest of deflections sending the ball inches wide of the post.

Fakenham created an opportunity from a free-kick that Aylsham couldn’t clear but a home attacker hooked the ball just over the bar from close range. Denver came back into the fray replacing Tyler for the final few minutes but with both sides cancelling eachother out the game drew to a close after a much more even second half. Aylsham’s four first-half goals saw the three points go to the visiting side who remain clear at the top of the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League Premiership.
