Aylsham U14s Win Away

Nth Walsham 0 Aylsham 4.
Did you know that we have one of the top 40 players in the Nth Norfolk League in our team Ibs , he is complimented by another 14, for those who didn’t know Ibs was one of 40 boys who trialled for the Norfolk trials, well done Ibs.
We had an Aylsham old boy who progressed in Jack Goddard, a big well done Jack.
Todays Team –
                       Josh
Ruben – James Clark –  Ollie
                  Bryn – Louis
      Cole – George – Adam – Ibs
                    Sonny
Subs – Henry – Jack Grey – James Barr ( Absentees Tom Batch )
Apologies to all todays Subs with the lack of playing time in such awful weather, it is a difficult balance were we have to get the right result and consider if changes benefit or weaken the side, when you do get on the pitch you have to seize the moment and make it difficult to leave you out, this also applies in training.
Man of the match – Bryn with an overall great performance , he and Louis have settled in quickly and compliment and support the back three. Man of the match could have been any of the starting 11 who all played extremely well
Scorers – Sonny 2 George 1 Cole 1
Our newly signed keeper Josh had a fine game making 3 or 4 great saves and although we won 4 nil he was in contention for his overall performance marshalling the players in front of him.
James Clark last weeks man of the match had a strange game not responding to defensive headers avoiding at all cost and yet going up for corners he was a constant threats, his challenge in the box resulted in a loose ball which Sonny responded to first firing into the back of the net., one nil to Aylsham.
The second goal came soon after with a clearance from Josh to George who went on a run before sliding the ball through allowing Cole to drive inside the post , 2 nil Aylsham.
In the first half we were playing up a steep incline and would have settled for a nil nil score at halftime but came off 2 to the good.
Half Time – Nth Walsham 0 Aylsham 2.
We started the second half with the same eleven as the boys were playing some quick and snappy football and deserved the opportunity to start.
The third goal came from a role reversal with another clearance from Josh to Ruben who found Cole who slid the ball through for George to get to the bye line before crossing for Sonny to hit a side way volley into the roof of the net – that was the end of Nth Walsham.
We then made the changes with Jack Gray for Sonny, James Barr for Ibs and Henry for Cole, but we weren’t finished yet , with a corner on the left to to near post George reacted first with a back heal flick 4 nil.
Overall it was a great performance by all the boys who have started looking like a well drilled team playing the ball about , its only our second game and we are joint top with 6 points , scored six and conceded none.
A special mention to Adam the enforcer with a tackle that I thought had left the game, it was perfectly timed and solid a joy to see in a competitive game with our nearest neighbours.
Next week we are at home to St Andrews, nice touch by all the boys applauding and team hug to Ibs , well done again from all at Aylsham a great achievement.
