Aylsham First Team Pre-Season Review

Pre-season 2025 has been a major positive for Aylsham First Team, laying strong foundations for the campaign ahead. With a largely settled squad and a clear identity developing on and off the pitch, the group has shown promising signs in both performances and togetherness.

The fixtures offered a great variety of challenges — from local rivals to higher-league opposition — giving the squad valuable tests in and out of possession. Across the games, there were flashes of real quality, with encouraging attacking combinations and a collective desire to improve week by week.

A big boost has come from the addition of several exciting new signings:
• Stephen Drake, who brings experience, high quality, and an eye for goal
• Logan Wright, who brings a raw, youthful approach with bags of energy
• Harry Atkins, a committed and athletic full back
• Joel Field, a young and dynamic defender full of energy and potential

Importantly, the squad culture has grown too. With player roles introduced, standards set, and a clear sense of ownership within the group, there’s a renewed focus heading into the season. The competition for places is healthy, and the hunger to push forward is clear to see.

We head into the new season excited, united and ready to build on the momentum we’ve created.

Up the A’s!
