Aylsham FC has taken a major step forward in its plans to create a larger, more practical and modern kitchen facility at the clubhouse, with the first stage of redevelopment now successfully completed.
The expanded kitchen will improve the matchday experience for players, supporters and visitors, while also providing greater flexibility for club events, fundraising activities and community use throughout the year.
Thanks to funding received through the Howdens Game Changer Programme, the club is undertaking a complete transformation of its kitchen facilities. The project will not only see a brand-new kitchen installed but will also expand the existing space by incorporating the adjoining storage cupboard, creating a much larger and more functional area to support the club’s growing needs.
The first phase of work saw the existing kitchen knocked through into the neighbouring storage area, with new wall sections constructed and a full skip filled during a productive day on site.
The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to the fantastic team of volunteers who gave up their time and expertise to help get the project underway:
- Alan Collins – Building Lead
- Simon Gotterson
- Glenn Gotterson
- Ian Potter – General support and helping hand wherever needed
- Matt Mynett – Electrical works and making the area safe for construction
Their efforts have enabled the project to progress quickly and efficiently, bringing the club one step closer to delivering a facility that will benefit members for many years to come.
The next major milestone comes on 1st July, when Howdens Norwich (Whiffler Road) will deliver the new kitchen units and appliances ready for installation.
This exciting redevelopment would not have been possible without the support of the Howdens Game Changer Programme, and everyone at Aylsham FC would like to extend a huge thank you to Howdens for investing in grassroots football and helping community clubs improve their facilities.
Work will continue over the coming weeks, and we look forward to sharing further updates as the new kitchen starts to take shape.
One Club. One Home. One Family.
