Thank You for a Brilliant Season

Alan Collins | Head of Adult Football

As the season comes to an end, I just wanted to say a few words and thank everyone who’s played a part in what’s been another big year for Aylsham FC.

Like any season, we’ve had the usual ups and downs — but thankfully it’s been mostly ups.

A huge step forward for the First Team

First of all, massive congratulations to Mark and the players on finishing in the top 5. To go from 13th last season to a top five finish this year is a brilliant improvement and a real credit to the hard work that’s gone in week after week.

There were some really impressive results throughout the season too — including strong performances and victories against a very good Long Stratton side, who’ve been one of the standout teams in the league and had a lot of success this year. Results like that show how far the group has come and what they’re capable of when they’re at it.

Stepping up when it mattered

I also want to say a big thank you to the Reserve Team players who stepped up and helped out when injuries hit. That togetherness across the adult set-up really matters and it made a difference.

Sponsors – thank you

A huge thank you as well to everyone who’s sponsored the team and the club this season — whether that’s players, matches, kits, tracksuits, or anything else. It’s all genuinely appreciated by me and by the club. The support makes a real difference.

The people behind the scenes

Finally, a big thank you to the people who help things run on matchdays and week to week. Thanks to Sarah and Anton for helping on matchdays, Bernie for doing the food, and everyone else who helps me out with the general running of things. I couldn’t do it without you all.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

Now it’s about using this season as a stepping stone and pushing on again. We want to build on the progress we’ve made and keep raising standards across the adult section.

Next season is already shaping up well, with a new Reserves Manager coming in and a new Under-18 team starting up — which means our adult offering and development pathway continues to grow, creating more opportunities for local footballers to progress and stay in the game at Aylsham.

Thanks again to everyone for your time, support and effort this season — and here’s to an even bigger and better 2026/27.
