Aylsham FC announces a significant leadership transition, effective 1st September 2025. After 15 years of outstanding service as Club Chair, Ian Potter will be stepping down from this role. Ian will, however, continue to play a vital role within the club, remaining on the Executive Club Committee and as a Director of Youngs Park (Aylsham Community Sports Ltd).
We are pleased to confirm that Gus Bates will succeed Ian as Club Chair. Gus brings over a decade of experience as a Committee Member and most recently served as Youth Chair. In turn, David Moon will step into the Youth Chair role for the upcoming season, having previously served as Youth Vice Chair and Tournament Lead.
The club has never been stronger. With a team of highly capable and committed individuals, Aylsham FC continues to thrive — now home to over 40 teams and recreational groups. Our facilities at Youngs Park are among the best in East Anglia, boasting high-quality grass pitches and a newly installed 3G surface.
Ian’s decision to step down has come after considerable thought. He believes the time is right to hand over the reins, confident in the leadership and vision of the group. The Executive Club Committee is fully supportive of these changes and sees this seamless transition as a testament to the club’s strength and long-term planning.
