Reserves clinch title with games to spare

Aylsham Reserves will finish the season as Anglian Combination Division 5 North champions after rivals Heacham slipped to a surprise defeat last night.

It looked as though the league would come down to a winner takes all decider when Aylsham Reserves take on Heacham at the end of the month but now they can’t be caught with two games remaining.

Manager Lee Collier said: “We are all delighted that we have secured the championship with games to spare. This is down to the hard work the players have put in over a long season.

“We have also been able to bring many youngsters through, some have even gone on to play in the first team”

The big game against Heacham will now be a chance to celebrate the success, Lee added, “We would love to see as many people as possible at Youngs Park on April 29 against Heacham. It will be a big celebration and of course the bar will be open!”
